30 Days Journal - Day 26

I am a terrible journal-er. As an exercise to become better, I decided to do a 30 day journal challenge for myself. Just like during my quarantine, I am using Isolation Journals for daily journal prompt.

Prompt: Observe your own imagination, as if traveling in a foreign land, taking in the sounds, sights and smells. Delight in the gap between experiencing and understanding. Become aware of the distance between your imagination and the real world. Now think of yourself as a translator, and begin to transpose whatever appeared in your imagination.

Hiking in the Swiss Alps is one of the activities I want to do the most as soon as the world stop locking down. The mountains is always so spiritual for me. From fairytales to escape from city life, the mountain view and looking down from the top is one of my favourite activity to do. The sound and smell are so authentic. I can already hear the chirping of birds in the woods and even small mammals scavenging for food. The smell would be moss-ie smell from the freshly dewed earth. It is always so magical, perhaps Disney did a great job making the woodlands and mountain tops full of cute energy imagery. Luckily I was never too bothered by the Hansel and Gretel’s story and wild animals that comes out of the woods to help Snow White with her chores keeps the woods romantic for me.

In my imagination, this would be fall and the colourful leaves falls to the bottom and create a colourful carpet beneath my feet. It’s sort of squishy because of the wetness but also so beautiful to take in. I would be in a loud yellow jacket, as I piece I often sport during the fall when I go hiking in Canada.
