30 Days Journal - Day 4
I am a terrible journal-er. As an exercise to become better, I decided to do a 30 day journal challenge for myself. Just like during my quarantine, I am using Isolation Journals for daily journal prompt.
Prompt: Reflect on all the colors that make up your emotional palette—from the brightest neons to the drabbest grays. Examine the different hues and shades that occur each morning, midday, afternoon and evening. Write about how they’re playing out on a canvas, how they work together to make each day a painting of its own.
The weather outside each day greatly determine which colour I would pick to start my day. Most days in the summers I would pick orange which is my favourite colour but then mornings like today, rainy/ cloudy, then I would pick a light grey colour. But no matter what the weather is like when I wake up, my mood would be brightened when I begin working out in the morning. It turns to this Mountain Dew neon as I power through my morning work out. If I go for a run outside then my colour palette drastically increases in the intensity and varieties as I am inspired by all the colours around me while I get lost in my own world - running is a meditative process for me. Then when I hop in the shower and sip on my first cup of coffee I would feel a warm yellow or red feeling. When I begin to start my work day, my day turns a light blue or purple depends what is on my plate for the day. Through out the day, I would say it would go from a blurry off white if I had a really busy day or a dusty tan if it is a slow day. When I get home and I’m in an excited hot pink as I am preparing for dinner, right up to the first bite. My world then turning into a glowing amber yellow, like the candle I lit up, as my evening start to unwind. My even generally falls into a brown-ish colour as I sip my tea and doing things to end my evening off. Lastly right before I am going to be bed, I feel a royal navy in my presence (might have been caused by the accent wall in my bedroom) as I cozy up and ready to start my journey into dream land.
