Quarantine Journals - Day 14
So I am back in Canada but have to sustain self-quarantine in a hotel for 14 days. That being said, what a great day to start a daily journal. I signed up to Isolation Journals where everyday it sends out a journal prompt. I decided to give it a try and I am writing these not in any order that was sent to me but based on random.
Prompt: Imagine you are able to speak to someone in your community, family, or lineage, even after you have passed on from this earthly plane. It is a person who was born after you were gone, so you do not know them personally. But they are able to find the message you have left behind. What would you say to them? What things do you want them to know about you, about this moment we are in, and perhaps about life and time as a whole?
Hello,
I don’t know who you are but I really hope you live life to the fullest. I have always tried my best to live my life with an exclamation mark and don’t really consider the long term consequences of my decisions. However, I lived in the time when everything in the world accelerated in un-presented speed (technology, policies, communication, knowledge, and science) and I can only image you live in a time with an even faster speech. When I was growing up, the elders around me has always reflected on their time and push their way of life on me. I hope I am not doing the same but simply letting you know that don’t exclusively make your decisions based on history. Try new things, challenge yourself and most importantly get uncomfortable. I don’t know the future, but I would think your life may be more difficult and has challenges that we have never faced before. For my time, it might be the pandemic. But if it help you put things more into perspective, if the pandemic happened a 100 years earlier without the technology we had at our time, there would be a lot more people dying in a single area - probably similar to the plague. Or think about people who lived in war torn countries, I hope by your time we have reached world peace and there are no longer wars - but if you watch some historical documentaries it would help you imagine. Humans are strong enough to face these these challenging times and everything will be okay at the end of the day. If you put everything since the dawn of civilization in perspective, what I experienced was just a blimp. And the history of the universe … wouldn’t even make it on the radar.
That being said, your life is still finite (at least I’m making that assumption) - try things that scare you or make you uncomfortable. It will help you develop into a better human being. Enjoy the moments of your happiness and let your sadness be sad. You will surpass these challenging times and come out a more dynamic and flexible person. You will become more confident when you face your next big challenge.
You will be just fine. ❤️🧡💛💚💜🖤
